Chapter 6:
In this chapter, Mr.Dance and Jim Hawkins have reached the squire’s rich house. Inside is Mr.Trelawny, the squire, and Dr.Livesey. Mr.Dance tells the bravery of Jim and his adventures, while Dr.Livesey takes the papers from Jim. They take advice from Mr.Trelawny to tell them what he knows about Captain Flint. He says that Flint was a mean buccaneer like Capt. Billy, and that he had a lot of coins. Later, they unfold the papers given by Jim, and they find the map of Captain Flint’s treasure and the areas where he looted. Mr.Trelawny is very excited to start finding the treasure by hiring a ship. They make plans; Dr.Livesey is the doctor of the ship, Mr.Trelawny is the squire, and Jim will be the cabin boy. Dr.Livesey insists Mr.Trelawny to keep this plan a secret as he was very talkative and excited about it. He promises to keep it a secret.
Chapter 7
This chapter is taken from Part 2, where Dr.Livesey and Jim received a letter from Trelawny, describing the appearance of their ship named Hispaniola. Trelawny declares that the ship was given to him as a gift from his old friend, Blandly. The ship needed crewmates, so Mr.Trelawny asks a man with one leg to join his ship, name Long John Silver. He is hired as the cook of the ship and promises to arrange the rest of the crew members. Jim, on the other hand, had to go say goodbye to his beloved mother, who is accompanied by another boy, and the cove in Admiral Benbow. Trelawny tells everyone that they will sail the next day.
Chapter 8
In Chapter 8, Trelawny offers Jim to give a letter to Silver in his tavern. Jim is thrilled when he thinks about Silver, who looked like the one-legged buccaneer Billy always had his eyes on, but when Jim Hawkins enters the tavern, he perceives that Long John Silver is cheerful and clean talking to a customer, and the complete opposite of Flint’s crew members. Jim hands over the letter to him, and as he makes that move, one of the customers’ dashes out of the door. Jim recognizes the man as Black Dog, who didn’t pay for the drinks he ordered. Jim tells Silver about Black Dog, and so, he sends a man after him. Silver questions Tom Morgan, who was sitting with Black Dog just before he ran away. Morgan insists that he never saw that man before today and says that both of them were talking about keel-hauling (severe punishment for sailors that involves dragging a man underneath a boat by a rope). Jim and Silver are heading towards Hispaniola, and on the way, they become good friends. Dr.Livesey declares that Silver suits him.
Chapter 9
In this chapter, Jim, Dr.Livesey and the other crew members meet their new member named Mr. Arrow. a sailor with earrings in his ears and cross-eyes, who is liked by squire Trelawny. The captain, Smollett, however, isn't satisfied and happy with the ship and the people who know what duties they have. He confidently tells this to squire Trelawny. He also continues his conversation by saying that there is a lot of talking about the map and treasure, and the squire declares that he never told anyone about it. When captain Smollett leaves, Dr.Livesey tells Trelawny that he did a good job picking Smollett and Long John Silver in the crew, for he had trust in them. But squire Trelawny says that the captain is un-English and not much of a sailor.
Chapter 10:
This chapter depicts the voyage of the buccaneers on the Hispaniola. All the members call Silver as Barbecue (as he is the cook) to have fun with them. They sing the song Billy Bones used to perform, which reminds Jim of Admiral Benbow. The ship has another mystery about Mr. Arrow, who is day and night drunk, and doesn't listen to anyone on the ship. One night, he disappears without anyone knowing. Job Anderson is the boatswain of the ship, and Jim describes him as the likeliest man abroad, and the coxswain, Israel Hands (who was also a great confidant of Silver) talks to Jim about Barbecue and the dangers he suffered. Jim thinks that Long John is weirdly kind and his gallery is always as clean as a new pin. Silver calls the 17-year-old boy towards him to chat about his parrot, Captain Flint, named after the famous buccaneer. The parrot, known as a female, speaks 'Pieces of Eight! Pieces of Eight!'. Meanwhile, Captain Smollett is arguing with the squire about the ship. Later, Jim thinks of going to the apple barrel for an apple. He is sitting in the barrel when he hears Silver's voice and starts to overhear a conversation between him and his mates.
Chapter 11:
The conversation Jim hears is about Silver as the headmaster of Captain Flint. He is telling his background story to a young seaman. Jim thinks about telling what he heard to the squire and the captain, but he remains silent and keeps listening to the secret conversation. Silver tells the young seaman, Dick, that once he gets rich, he will live long and healthy with wealth. Outside the apple barrel, Israel Hands joins the conversation, asks Silver questions about Silver's plan for the captain. As they don't know the treasure map, Silver tells Dick and Israel to wait, but they are anxious to wait, and they no more want captain Smollett in the voyage.
Chapter 12:
In this chapter, the crew members, along with the captain, stop by an island called 'Skeleton Island' for which they celebrate their first landing with drinks. Captain Smollett shows the treasure map to Silver, but its a complete copy of the original one. Silver is disappointed about it. Jim is still worried to see Silver, who is also excited about the island, looking quite joyful. Jim goes to the squire, the doctor, and the captain in the cabin and tells them the conversation he overheard of Silver. They are shocked that Silver was remarkable and wasn't doing anything wrong on ship. Captain Smolett apologizes to the squire for not trusting Silver and them. The squire declares that they are seven faithful people (including his three servants) who are against nineteen buccaneers, but Jim is worried because he is just a boy.
